Texas COVID-19 Plots
Update (January 11, 2022): This is a new project using the Excel spreadsheets available from the Texas DSHS. The charts are available by Texas Trauma Service Area (TSA), which is the level at which the Texas DSHS tracks hospitalization numbers. The code is available on my GitHub.

Regional Trends Heatmap
- Cases per 100K: Reported COVID-19 positive tests per 100,000 population, averaged over the past seven days.
- Positivity Rate: COVID-19 positive tests over the last seven days divided by the total number of tests conducted over the last seven days, then averaged over the last seven days.
- Hospital Utilization: Percent of total hospital capacity being occupied by COVID-19 positive patients, averaged over the last seven days.
- Transmission Level: Categorical transmission level using the CDC definitions.
